Project to open area for development

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. — A project to better connect west Jackson County with Sangani Boulevard and Promenade shopping area moved a step forward at the Jackson County Board of Supervisors meeting. Supervisors voted to appoint three of their own to sit on a five-member review committee that will help choose a contractor to handle buying right of way along the path. The I-10 Connector Road is a state project to widen and improve Cook Road north of Interstate 10 from Harrison County to Seaman Road in Jackson County. The $15 million project has been touted as a way to give Jackson County access to the shopping and entertainment area, without having to use I-10. (Source: Sun Herald, 09/16/13)
