PASCAGOULA, Miss. – Ingalls Shipbuilding will hold a keel authentication ceremony of the National Security Cutter Kimball (WMSL 756) Friday, March 4, at 10:30 a.m. The ship is the company’s seventh NSC for the U.S. Coast Guard. Adm. Paul Zukunft, commandant of the Coast Guard, is the keynote speaker. Kay Bown Webber Cochran, wife of Sen. Thad Cochran, R-Miss., is the ship sponsor and will have her initials welded on a keel plate at the end of the ceremony. Legend-class NSC’s are the flagships of the Coast Guard’s cutter fleet.
