PASCAGOULA, Miss. – Chevron on Friday handed out more than $92,000 in grants for STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education as part of its Project Lead the Way initiative. The grants went to 17 schools in Jackson and George counties. Amy Brandenstein of Chevron pointed out that education ultimately “will impact our workforce down the road and that’s why we do a lot of concentration and focus on STEM.” Chevron got involved with Project Lead The Way in 2014. This is the sixth year the company has awarded the grants and company officials say they will continue to sponsor these grants for the foreseeable future. (Source: WLOX-TV, 04/05/19)
