PASCAGOULA, Miss. — The Jackson County Board of Supervisors came out of executive session with the Port of Pascagoula on Monday and approved a loan, not to exceed $5 million, to improve a wharf on Bayou Casotte. Port Director Mark McAndrews said the money will be used to upgrade an under-utilized wharf so that it will be able “to handle liquid bulk cargo for a new shipper.” The wharf is one of the large berths, he said. County supervisors said the project is tied to the Chevron Pascagoula Refinery, which will actually pay off the loan. (Source: Sun Herald, 04/21/14)
