MOSS POINT, Miss. – The new site for the Pascagoula River Audubon Center is a step closer to reality with the announcement Wednesday of construction of the new $1.6 million facility. The center will serve as a gateway to the Pascagoula River. The area is surrounded by bottomland forests, swamps, tidal marshes and upland forests and grasslands that together support 327 species of birds. The new center will include observation decks, spaces for research, restoration projects, plant sales, and much more. (Source: Mississippi Press, 06/25/14)
