PASCAGOULA, Miss. — When Chevron’s $1.4 billion base oil plant comes on line at the Pascagoula refinery next year, there’s little doubt the product will sell. It will produce about 25,000 barrels per day of Group II premium base oil, which goes into automotive, industrial and process oils, metalworking fluids and greases. There’s already demand for the production capacity, said Cary Knuth, Chevron’s base oil general manager. Knuth and other company leaders were on hand at the Pascagoula refinery recently for a day-long media tour of the facility. (Source: Mississippi Press, 11/03/13)
