Forbes
Craig Hooper | November 29, 2022

Analysts are fretting that the “consolidation” might limit “the navy’s options at a time when the service is trying to grow its fleet,” but those concerns are totally overblown. The new U.S. owners bring stability, a long-term management outlook, political power, and deep pockets to a traditional builder of complex and high-value government research, Polar, and special mission vessels.

The 40 acres of land is outside the city limits, but on property owned by the school district. The city will also attempt to annex land up Highway 57 north of Interstate 10. Mayor Kenny Holloway says the proposed expansion areas are “a natural pattern of growth.”
