Ingalls, Chevron, Mississippi Power, Singing River Hospital, Halter Marine and local businesses need their workers nearby and not in another state. The State of Mississippi is losing hundreds of millions of dollars. Pascagoula and Jackson County are losing millions. Schools are losing students. Churches are losing members. Non-profits are losing volunteers. The town is losing houses and people. This isn’t just affecting Pascagoula, Jackson County or even Mississippi. It’s bigger than that. The U.S. depends on the unique work products of Pascagoula for our military and overall economy.

A superintendent forum was held for the two finalists for the Pascagoula-Gautier School District Superintendent position. Hosted by the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, the candidates took turns answering questions about who they are and how they plan to grow the school district.
Ocean Springs named nation’s ‘best coastal small town’

Ocean Springs was recently named the best coastal small town in the country by USA Today. The city landed the spot by popular vote in an online contest. “Because we’re known for our shopping, our dining, our art and nightlife, we don’t have anything like a casino or anything like that. So, it’s really cool to be noticed for just the authentic self that Ocean Springs is,” said Cynthia Sutton, executive director of the chamber of commerce.Residents can soon expect to see celebratory posters and banners strung throughout the city.
Ocean Springs couple wins ‘Country Roads’ Best Small Town Chefs
WXXV June 23, 2022 Thinking outside the box grabbed the attention of regional magazine ‘Country Roads’ which named Stephanie and Michael Paoletti as ‘Best Small Town Chefs.’ The couple, who owns ‘Food, Booze, and Hiccups,’ catering business, returned to Michael’s hometown of Ocean Springs a few years ago and decided to try something outside the box, dinner on the lot, which features a unique, locally sourced menu on a vacant lot on Government Street. “I completely cried. PASCAGOULA, Mississippi — Ingalls Shipbuilding was awarded a $240 advanece procurement contract from the U.S. Navy to begin purchasing materials for construction of LPD 32, the 16th in the San Antonio class of amphibious transport dock ships. The cost-plus-fixed-fee contract will provide for the purchase of long lead time material and advance construction for LPD 32, which will be the third Flight II amphibious ship in its class.
