MOSS POINT, Miss. – Chevron gave a $1 million donation to the Pascagoula River Audubon Center, Mississippi Flyway and National Audubon Society in a ceremony Thursday. The donation will be used to expand Audubon’s work, programs and facilities, including a new 5,000 square-foot facility in Moss Point that will serve as a gateway to the river. It will be situated on 10 acres near downtown Moss Point. Mark LaSalle, director of the Pascagoula River Audubon Society, said the donation will not be used to fund the new building, for which financing is already in place, but for operational and educational expenses.
