PASCAGOULA, Miss. — Huntington Ingalls Industries today hosted Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., for a tour of Ingalls Shipbuilding division. Sessions toured several areas of the shipyard and also walked through the amphibious transport dock John P. Murtha (LPD 26). Sessions met with shipbuilders at various locations throughout the yard, including the final stop at the keel of the amphibious assault ship Tripoli (LHA 7), where he talked with shipbuilders from Alabama. “The multiple classes of ships produced at this impressive facility — only an hour from my hometown of Mobile — contribute remarkable firepower and flexibility to a naval fleet which will need both to deter and respond to a growing array of global threats,” Sessions said.
