County economy touted

PASCAGOULA, Miss. – Jackson County’s economy is doing well and will only get better. That was the message from newly appointed Jackson County Board of Supervisors President Randy Bosarge at his State of the County address Wednesday. Among the highlights: the approval of funds for a planned overhaul of an animal shelter and construction of a sheriff substation. He also said he’s proud supervisors have kept millage rates the same. "We want to try to keep the taxes the same and even look at lowering them. We want to look at doing more with less." He also talked about the expansion of the Trent Lott Airport as a way more businesses could frequent Jackson County. "We want to bring more businesses to Jackson County and the widening of the runway at Trent Lott Airport is one of the ways we can make that happen." (Source: Mississippi Press, 01/31/18)
